Pocatello Kid Rock program kicks off
As the winter weather nears, children and their parents are looking for a way to stay active. In Pocatello, the Kid Rock program is allowing grade school kids to stay active through indoor rock climbing instruction.
It’s a program the city has been running for over 20 years and is a great way for kids to stay active in the colder weather, as well as giving kids who aren’t interested in team sports a way to stay active.
Outdoor recreation supervisor Lance Clark said, “I think it’s important for kids that don’t do team sports to still have activities.”
In this case, climbing.
“Climbing is a non-competitive, but still active, activity that you can do for a lifetime and I think it’s important for kids to have activities even if they’re not into team sports.”
The sessions begin this afternoon at 4 pm at the Community Recreation Center and run until 5:30 pm.
