Cody manufacturer wins Business Council support
The Wyoming Business Council has approved a $3 million loan and $3 million grant to help a Cody firearms manufacturer expand.
The city of Cody requested the funds to help Gunwerks firearms production. The building will be built on five acres of property purchased by Gunwerks and deeded to “Forward Cody”, an economic development organization. the building and land will then be leased to Gunwerks.
According to their business plan, in five years, the project is expected to create 52 jobs, retain 58 jobs, increase payroll by over $3 million and provide the business an opportunity to consolidate and possibly relocate corporate officers from Salt Lake City.
Gunwerks launched in Burlington, Wyoming in 2008, founded by Aaron Davidson, CEO and Mike Davidson, Director of Manufacturing Operations.
The company designs and manufactures high precision, long-range shooters at a location in Burlington and other locations around Cody. Its shooting systems are marketed internationally.
