All aboard the Idaho Falls Train Show

Train fans united at the Idaho Falls Train Show on Saturday.

People from all over came out to check out the different types of trains. There were all types of model trains and even some Lego trains. Kids can even take a train ride in the parking lot! You can also buy some trains to take home. The show has a little something for the whole family.

“Part of it is that trains are so big and it’s a mechanical thing and a lot of people really enjoy looking at trains and they’ve grown up with trains,” said David Shaw, coordinator of the trains how. “There’s a history of trains in this area. A lot of people’s grandparents worked on the railroad. Pocatello was a big yard and there was a lot of trains in Idaho Falls too. And they’ve just kind of grown up with it as a family.”

If you missed the train show on Saturday, don’t worry. It continues on Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm at the Idaho Falls Rec Center.
