Mountain lion spotted in Lava Hot Springs
A mountain lion was spotted walking through the middle of town in Lava Hot Springs last night
Idaho Fish and Game says this mountain lion was seen walking on main street and headed toward the hot pools in Lava around 7 p.m. last night. Bystanders used their car to block the lion from getting on the path leading to the pools. Witnesses say it then went to the parking lot of the Lava Spa Motel. Law enforcement and Fish and Game responded but couldn’t find the lion. Then, around 11 p.m. it was spotted at the corner of the post office. Fish and Game says the mountain lion was a female and she was very malnourished and injured. She was also blind in her left eye. Fish and Game did safely dispatch the lion.
