Snow, freezing rain cause havoc on roads and highways

Snow and freezing rain are causing hazardous driving conditions across eastern Idaho Thursday morning.

Several slide-offs and accidents have been reported around the area.

An Idaho State Police trooper was involved in an accident on Hitt road near 65 N. No one was injured.

An accident on US 20 near Ucon slowed traffic when the trailer flipped to its top.

First Alert’s meteorologist Matt Brewer said the snow showers should be ending by early afternoon.

Earlier, freezing rain was being reported from the Burley area to Blackfoot, causing hazardous conditions on I-86.

So far we have not heard of any serious injuries from today’s accidents.
