Wyoming man’s bond set at $10 million in wife killing

A Wyoming judge has set a $10 million, cash only bond for a 76-year-old man accused of killing his wife last year.

Dennis Klingbeil had been denied bond previously since he was arrested last August for the killing of his wife, Donna.

The Cody Enterprise reports District Court Judge Bill Simpson decided Monday to set a bond after Park County District Attorney Bryan Skoric announced last month he would not be seeking the death penalty in the case.

Klingbeil, of Wapiti, charged with first-degree murder. He has pleaded not guilty and a trial is scheduled for March 4.

Police say Klingbeil and his wife had been arguing over the ownership of $3.6 million worth of Park County assets in a revocable trust before she was shot to death.
