D251 announces 4 superintendent finalists

The Jefferson Joint School District’s Board of Trustees has narrowed down the pool of superintendent candidates to replace Lisa Sherick who retired in January.

The four candidates are:

Karla LaOrange: LaOrange is the Teacher Education Department Chair for BYU‐I Chad Martin: Martin is the Director of Secondary Education for Jefferson Joint School District 251 Sarah Sanders: Dr. Sanders is the Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Education for Idaho Falls School District 91 Joel Wilson: Dr. Wilson is the Superintendent for Butte County School District 111

Trustees reviewed and discussed candidate’s qualifications during an executive session on Wednesday night. The Board met in open session Thursday and continued their discussion and forwarded four names on for further consideration.

The Board plans to name a new superintendent by the end of February.
