Idaho Fish and game offering new program
Idaho Fish and Game is offering a program for everyone who loves the outdoors.
It is called the Idaho Master Naturalist.
To earn this title, a person must complete 40 hours of hands-on training in areas focused on Idaho’s ecology, plants, animals and natural systems taught by experts in their fields.
It is a great way to get some unique training and experiences as a trained volunteer for Fish and Game.
Jennifer Jackson, who works for Idaho Fish and Game, says “It is a great chance to get out and do wildlife surveys, eagle surveys, get involved in some of these unique studies that we have. We have a lots of opportunities to interact with the public, do educational programs. Even if you don’t have a science background or you don’t have any special skills or training, we don’t care, just bring your passion and your energy and we will get you trained up as a master naturalist.”
The first presentation is on Idaho mammals.
The training will take place January 24th at 6 P.M. at the Fish and game office in Pocatello at 1345 Barton road.
