Museum of Idaho’s new exhibit brings people back to ancient times

Calling all history, science and math lovers: Museum of Idaho’s newest traveling exhibit, “Archimedes: Science and Innovations,” opens Friday.

The interactive exhibit celebrates the work and legacy of Archimedes, a Greek mathematician whose inventions changed the world.

The exhibit has more than 60 pieces with which visitors can interact, solve puzzles and experiment.

“We have an opportunity to share something with people when they come in that speaks to not just one portion of their brain,” said Chloe Doucette, director of education. “But instead it speaks to all of your senses. You get to smell, you get to touch, you get to really experience things in a different way.”

The exhibit runs through the end of September.

Next Thursday will be educator’s night. Any educators will be able to get in for free from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.
