The 51st Annual Ag Expo draws a large crowd

Today is the second day of the Eastern Idaho Ag Expo and Potato Conference. Agricultural manufacturers and farmers gathered at the Holt Arena today to talk everything farming.

From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Holt Arena was packed with people checking out the latest in technology in farming. From tractors to tillers, manufacturers were displaying their latest models and all of their updated functions. It also made for a great environment for farmers to talk with one another about the farming industry and this year’s upcoming crop cycle.

David Beale from Spectra Productions and Event Coordinator, says, ” It’s great watching the interaction between the growers and the vendors and knowing that they’re talking about bettering the industry and growing better potatoes and really helping the growing. And, seeing all of the machinery. It’s just amazing to see what innovations happen from year to year. Yeah, it’s just a fun event to be around.”

These two conferences have been going on for decades. Many of these farmers and manufacturers only see each other once a year and it’s at this event. Many see this conference as a once a year event that helps the eastern Idaho agricultural community strong.

Justin Mechan a salesperson from Spudnik Equipment attends this event annually. “The whole agricultural community together and we can sit down and not necessarily sell but get back together and enjoy each others company.”
