Engineers complete levee assessment
“Flood fight” specialists from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers have completed their assessment of levees along the Snake River in Madison and Jefferson counties.
Civil Engineer Joy Hartl and hydraulic engineer Kevan Schneidmiller, of Walla Walla, Washington began their assessment April 28 and returned home over the weekend.
They helped emergency managers assess levee performance and identify areas that might be at risk of damage from seasonal Snake River flows.
The team also visited other areas of concern along rivers in Blaine and Ada counties.
