Wyoming man tapped for Interior post
President Donald J. Trump has nominated a Wyoming man to be assistant secretary for fish, wildlife and parks at the U.S. Interior Department.
The Buckrail reports Robert Wallace was born in Cheyenne and raised in Evanston. He is president of the Upper Green River Conservancy. Wallace is also a founding member of Grand Teton National Park Foundation.
He also was a ranger at Grand Teton National Park and eventually was appointed assistant director of the National Park Service in Washington, D.C. From there he went on to serve as chief of staff to Wyoming U.S. Sen. Malcolm Wallop and later as chief of staff to Wyoming Gov. Jim Geringer.
Wallace must be confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
