Study reflects economic impact of Fluor Idaho

A new study shows Fluor Idaho, LLC operations at the Idaho National Laboratory site generated an $800 million impact on the Idaho economy last year.

According to the company, an Inform Economic Analysis study determined the Idaho Cleanup Project employed 1,650 employees in 2018, an increase of 3% over 2017.

At an average annual salary of over $90,000, Fluor Idaho employees generated about $250 million of economic activity for Idaho businesses, through the purchase of goods and services.

In total, the study found Fluor Idaho provided $814 million in benefits to the state economy during 2018. It’s employees donated about $415,000 to local charities and United Way.

The company announced in April that it would reduce its workforce by 190 people this fiscal year.
