New Area of Impact proposal for Rigby
The Jefferson County Commissioners held a public hearing Monday to consider the adoption of a new area of impact agreement and map for the city of Rigby.
The room was packed with home and landowners of the newly-proposed area.
The majority of those who spoke were against the new AOI and are requesting the commissioners consider leaving their area out.
The city and county both stated the proposal was written with the future in mind.
“What can we do to help, like we said ten years, fifteen years from now. Have we done what we need to do to have the proper plan?” said District 2 Commissioner Scott Hancock.
Due to the lack of clarity on some subjects in the proposal, the council has tabled the matter for two weeks.
This will also give them time to review the concerns mentioned by the home and landowners.
They will resume on May 28 at 10:30 a.m.
