Utah woman says bison flipped her into air, broke her ankle
A Utah woman who was charged by a bison while hiking at Antelope Island State Park says the bison flipped her 15 feet into the air and broke her ankle.
KSL-TV reports Kayleigh Davis said Sunday she screamed as the bison hovered over her after she landed. She says the bison sniffed her and dug in its hooves before it eventually left her alone on Friday.
Utah State Parks Lt. Eric Stucki says the 22-year-old was running on a trail with a friend, Kyler Bourgeous, who was also attacked by a bison on the island in June. It is not clear what prompted the bison to charge Davis.
Stucki says the incidents are the only two reported bison attacks on the island this year.
