TULSA, Oklahoma (KOCO) — Tulsa police arrested a man accused of stalking a former coworker, trying to kidnap her, and shooting her husband, police officials said.

According to a post on Tulsa police’s Facebook page, officers responded on Friday to a report of a man trying to kidnap a woman near East 51st Street and Yale Avenue. The suspect, identified as Justin Arthur-Ray Davis, was a former coworker to the victim.

Police said Davis has been stalking the victim for over a month after he resigned at their mutual workplace. She has made reports of Davis sitting outside her apartment and leaving candy and food on her doorstep.

According to police, the victim was leaving for work and her husband was walking her to her vehicle when they spotted Davis sitting in his truck. Davis reportedly got out of the truck with a shotgun and ran after the couple.

Police said the couple went back inside their apartment, and Davis shot through the door hitting the husband in the hand. Davis went into the apartment, grabbed the victim and dragged her down the stairs, assaulting her along the way, according to Tulsa police.

Neighbors woke up to the chaos, called 911 and watched Davis choke and punch the victim, according to police. The victim’s husband came back downstairs to save the victim and Davis pointed the shotgun at him saying he would kill him if she didn’t get in the truck, according to police. Davis then fired two shots into the air.

Officers said when they arrived, Davis took off in his vehicle, leading officers on a pursuit down I-44. Davis took the East 21st Street exit when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed.

Davis was taken to a hospital to be treated for a laceration to the head, and was then booked into Tulsa County jail. Officers recovered the gun and ammo, according to police.

According to the Facebook post, Davis was arrested on complaints of kidnapping, shooting with intent to kill and first-degree burglary.
