A car crashed into a dump truck and the driver of the car succumbed to their injuries and died

RIRIE, Idaho (KIFI) – (Update August 24) From a press release by Idaho State Police: "The juvenile driving the Dodge Dart succumbed to their injuries at the hospital on August 24, 2024."

Highway 26 was reduced to one lane eastbound around 105 East near Ririe on Thursday, August 22, following a two-vehicle accident. 

A collision between a car and dump truck caused the the car to flip over onto the side of the road. 

The driver of the Dump truck sustained no injuries.

However, the car was being driven by a juvenile who was not wearing a seatbelt. The driver was taken to a local hospital.

Idaho State Police lead the investigation.
