US students who box, skydive and help youth and asylum seekers are among 2025’s Rhodes scholars

A group of 32 students from the United States have been selected to attend the University of Oxford as part of the prestigious Rhodes scholar program in the coming year. They have a wide range of interests outside their studies that include music, boxing, skydiving and helping youth and asylum seekers. The students represent more than 70 nations. The American secretary of the Rhodes Trust said in an announcement early Sunday that the 32 U.S. college and university recipients come from 19 states and the District of Columbia and represent 20 different schools. The scholarship will cover all expenses at the storied university in Oxford, England, beginning in October 2025.
