Goodenough Road Fire fully contained
MCCAMMON, Idaho (KIFI) - UPDATE 6/15/21 10 a.m.: The Bureau of Land Management said the Goodenough Road Fire was fully contained at 8 p.m. Monday.
The fire is approximately 2 ½ miles west of McCammon on private land threatening BLM land.
The fire is 25 acres, and firefighters will be on scene Tuesday mopping up hot spots and monitoring the fire.
Estimated control time is 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
UPDATE June 14, 2021 9:30 p.m.: The Bureau of Land Management said a fire burning 2.5 miles from McCammon will be contained by 10 p.m.
The Goodenough Road Fire burned approximately 25 acres Monday.
The caused is believed to be human caused but is still under investigation.
Original Story: MCCAMMON, Idaho (KIFI) - The Bureau of Land Management reports the Goodenough Road Fire was reported at 1:30 p.m. on Monday.
The fire is estimated at 10 acres and is burning in grass and sage.
Crews from Inkom, McCammon, Arimo, Lava Hot Springs, Pocatello Valley, the BLM and Forest Service are currently on scene.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
BLM says the breezy conditions are making containment difficult.
The fire is currently 40% to 50% contained. Full containment is estimated for Monday night.
