Police investigating fatal shooting of store owner in Ogden
OGDEN, Utah (AP) - A police investigation has been launched in Utah after a grocery store owner in Ogden was fatally shot at his business on Sunday, authorities said.
Ogden Police Lt. Brian Eynon said Monday that the suspected shooter entered the Super Grocery around 11:50 p.m. and talked to 65-year-old store owner Satnam Singh before shooting him, the Standard-Examiner reported. Singh died at the scene.
"The motive is still unknown," Eynon said. "We're trying to figure that out."
Investigators believe the suspect is between 16 and 25 years old.
The Ogden Police Department was notified of the shooting when someone found Singh in the store. Eynon declined to say how many shots were fired.
Anyone with information has been asked to contact authorities.
The police department is working with the Weber County homicide task force, the Ogden Police area tactical analysis center and Weber County crime scene investigation on the investigation.
