SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — Trash carried by at least one North Korean balloon has fallen on the South Korean presidential compound, raising worries about the security of key South Korean facilities during North Korean provocations. The presidential security service says the rubbish contained no dangerous material and no one was hurt. North Korea’s latest balloon launches on Wednesday came days after South Korea boosted its front-line broadcasts of K-pop songs and propaganda messages. North Korea has said its balloons are a response to propaganda leafleting in the North by South Korean activists. South Korea says past balloons had timers that likely popped the bags of trash in midair. But experts say North Korea likely doesn’t have the ability to drop trash on specific targets.
