Highland’s Gino Mariani resigns after more than two decades as Rams head football coach
POCATELLO, Idaho (KIFI) - The winningest coach in Highland High School history is no longer the leader of the Rams football program, as Gino Mariani resigned his position Thursday.
Highland AD Travis Bell confirmed the news as well.
Mariani steps down after more than two decades leading a Highland program that became one of the best in Idaho during his tenure, winning four state championships.
While at Highland, Mariani also coached players like Taysom Hill and Tommy Togiai, who went on to successful careers in the NFL, and many other great Rams who played or are currently competing in college football.
