Bandits sweep doubleheader against Runnin’ Rebels in blowout and walkout fashion
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) - The Idaho Falls Bandits stayed perfect in the state of Idaho Wednesday night by sweeping the Pocatello Runnin' Rebels in a doubleheader 10-2 and 6-5.
The Bandits were in control from the get-go in game one, scoring six runs in the first three innings and not looking back. Ryan Horvath hit a home run as well in the 10-2 victory.
Game two was a back-and-forth battle that came down to the wire in the bottom of the 7th inning. With the bases loaded, one out, and trailing 5-4, Merit Jones brought in the tying and winning runs on a walkout two-run double for the 6-5 win.
Next up, both teams begin out-of-town tournaments on Thursday, with the Bandits heading to Cheyenne and the Runnin' Rebels traveling to Twin Falls.
