Gusty Winds and Snow Expected

High Wind Warning through 3pm for portions of Bingham and Bannock Counties along I-15 ahead of a cold front bringing an artic blast to the region for tonight and tomorrow. We've seen gusts up to 68mph in Pocatello this morning, yielding power outages and damage, uprooting trees, and sending one person to the hospital with minor injuries. Winds ahead of the front roll up to 30+ mph, then calmer after the front into 4pm.

Winter Storm Warning for mountains and Winter Weather Advisory for the valley region and western Wyoming continue into tomorrow morning and an Avalanche Warning is in effect for the Centennial Mountains and Sawtooth mountains, due to winds and new snowfall, with more otw.

Snow begins into the valley later this afternoon and evening, temperatures will drop to 18 degrees and wind chills through tomorrow morning will hit 0 or below by 8am. Road conditions will deteriorate as road temperatures will be below freezing after sunset. Blowing snow/sleet and slick conditions will not make for a nice Wednesday around here. Everything will remain frozen into the weekend, with another storm Thursday and highs barely hitting freezing through the weekend. Lows in the teens.
