Scattered snow Tuesday night, cold Wednesday, more Snow Thursday

TUESDAY EVENING: Scattered snow showers with winds 15-25 MPH, black ice possible, with dropping temperatures into the 20's

WEDNESDAY: A chance of snow in the morning and mid-day, with partly cloudy skies in the afternoon. Daytime highs for the Snake River Plain into the lower to mid 20's. Wednesday night, scattered snow showers with lows into upper teens. Scattered snow and gusty winds.

THURSDAY: Snow with highs into the upper 20's for the Snake River Plain.

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 AM MST
WEDNESDAY:

  • WHAT…Snow. Snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches, except 4 to 8 inches on ridge tops and elevations above passes. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph.
  • WHERE…The eastern Magic Valley, Snake Plain, Teton Valley and southern and eastern highlands, including but not limited to Burley, Sweetzer Summit, Holbrook Summit, Aberdeen, American Falls, Pocatello, Chubbuck, Fort Hall, Blackfoot, Idaho Falls, Rigby, Rexburg, Driggs, Malad Pass, Lava Hot Springs, Fish Creek Summit, Soda Springs, Georgetown Summit, Montpelier, and Border Summit.
  • WHEN…From 5 AM this morning to 5 AM MST Wednesday.
  • IMPACTS…Plan on slick travel conditions due to a possible flash freeze as well as falling and blowing snow, especially this evening. Strong winds may also result in difficult driving for high profile vehicles. The evening commute may be significantly impacted.

WEDNESDAY:

  • WHAT…Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches, except 4 to 8 inches on ridge tops and elevations above passes. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
  • WHERE…The Centennial Mountains and Island Park region, including but not limited to Raynolds Pass, Targhee Pass, Island Park, and Ashton Hill.
  • WHEN…Until 5 AM MST Wednesday.
  • IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult due to falling and blowing snow. Morning and evening commutes may be significantly impacted.
