Fire weather warning and more heat

We'll have another chance at afternoon thunderstorms today and that brings a possibility of fire weather especially for the area from the palisades to Magic Valley from 1pm to 9pm. Outflow winds of 50 mph will create a critical fire hazard with thunderstorm cells, just like yesterday afternoon.

Highs range from 93 in Rexburg to 98 in Pocatello in the I-15 corridor. SW flow keeps winds at 10-20+ mph, gustier in thunderstorms. We'll have a mix of sun and clouds to day as we start with warmer conditions in the 60's thanks to yesterday's heat. Our temps will stay consistent in the 90's for the valley and close to 90 for mountain communities, around 88 for Jackson. 30-40% chance of storms for most of us today and tomorrow, just ahead of even more heat 97-99 degrees for the valley on Saturday and Sunday. Stay heat aware and don't leave anything in the truck. Extreme heat conditions still exist even without a current heat advisory being issued by the NWS.
