New weather warnings this afternoon

Wind chill warnings tonight at 8pm for many upper valley and mountain counties. -30° with actual low temps below zero. Some eastern areas of Idaho may experience blizzard like conditions into the late night with continuously gusty winds and low visibility.

Wind chill advisory for Lemhi County into the overnight -15° is what it feel like.

Southern counties under the blizzard warning that expires will be under a winter storm warning for the weekend, with 25+mph winds and 2-6" of snow possible into mountains and southeastern highlands.

Avalanches are occurring with sliding snow in the areas highlighted. Look for a better chance of snow for the metro areas into Sunday - 50% with a better hold on the 20's for highs. Another polar push of cold air shakes things up for the beginning of the week late Sunday and early Monday. So a cold MLK day and highs in the teens with dry air until mid-week.
