Winter weather moving through today with rain/snow for the valley and a few inches in the mountains with gusty winds

Cloudy and a chance of rain and snow in the midday and 39 breezes gusting up to 36 miles an hour 30% chance of snow tonight cloudy and 25 degrees and still gusty. Thursday a 30% chance of snow into midday and partly sunny by the afternoon and a high of 32. After that high-pressure sinks in and our max temps will be in the lower 30s to mid 30s by the weekend and overnights will be in the teens. Single digit lows expected for the mountains. The cold dry air takes over into the forecast remainder and I doubt there will be much precip into the middle of the month.

Winter weather advisories are updated for today's mess for state line counties in eastern Idaho and western Wyoming around Jackson and Alpine. Accumulations expected of 2-4" for areas above 6000 feet.

You are likely to see more snow into tonight for the metro areas in the valley and winds continue to gust to 30+mph. Anything wet will freeze tonight and that means slick conditions tomorrow morning early. Stay warm and safe and turn on 8. Live at noon and on our free KIFI First Alert Weather App.
