Minor flooding possible in Teton County, Wyoming

Teton County, Wyoming, officials are warning people in low-lying areas to watch out for minor flooding.

The flooding is due to recent warm temperatures and rising creeks, streams and rivers.

“What property owners near creeks and streams need to tune in for in the coming weeks are flood watches and flood warnings,” said Teton County Emergency Management Coordinator Rich Ochs in a news release Wednesday.

Both Pacific Creek and the Snake River at Flagg Ranch have hit action stage, which means people in those areas should make preparations for flooding.

Teton County is making sandbag and sand stockpiles available for protection of property from flooding. Those experiencing minor flooding or those in areas known for spring runoff flooding can pick up sand and sand bags at the Teton County Road & Levee yard at 3190 S. Adams Canyon Drive.
