Heat Advisory today and warmer

High pressure to our north moves into Canada, and the high to the south from the four corners pushes east and a pacific low makes it way across northern Idaho as we combine some monsoonal flow from the south and west with hot temps for scattered storms into eastern Idaho and western Wyoming. Highs today warrant a heat advisory for the valleys and major cities along the I-15 corridor as we pop 95-99 degrees. 93 in Rexburg. Mid to upper 80's in Driggs and Jackson. Winds will follow from the southwest for today at 10-20+ mph and gustier around storms. We've got alot of heat ahead with moisture to pop some storm chances the rest of the week. Mountains will see the greatest chance of thunderstorms it looks like - around 40%.

Our normal highs this time of year in Idaho Falls would be around 86 and with such a jump in temperatures, heat advisories are cautionary for our viewers. +10 degrees for both daytime highs and overnights this forecast period, as it feels more like August weather right now. Please be heat aware and we have red flag warnings for fire danger in southern Idaho as well.

Hot conditions with morning low temperatures only falling
  to 62 to 72 degrees, especially from Blackfoot and Craters of
  the Moon southward, and afternoon high temperatures reaching 94
  to 99 degrees.

* WHERE...The eastern Magic Valley, Arco Desert, Snake Plain,
  and southern highlands, including but not limited to Shoshone,
  Carey, Burley, American Falls, Aberdeen, Malad, Preston, Lava
  Hot Springs, McCammon, Pocatello, Chubbuck, Fort Hall,
  Blackfoot, Idaho Falls, Ammon, Rigby, Rexburg, and St. Anthony.

* WHEN...Through 9 PM MDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and poor early morning temperature
  recovery may cause heat illnesses to occur.
