PICKENS, South Carolina (WYFF) — A man turned a South Carolina traffic stop into a roadside concert this week when he broke out some unusual instruments for police, according to video posted to Facebook.
“No traffic stop is the same,” the Pickens Police Department said in the post.
The body cam video, dated 9:15 p.m. Sunday, starts with a man humming and playing what police said were the spoons.
The man, who was not identified but police said is from North Carolina, is next seen making a high-pitched vibrating tone police identified as a saw, though the name of the song being played is not identifiable.
Finally, the man pulls out a guitar and serenades officers with his rendition of the John Denver classic, “Rocky Mountain High.”
“Not all traffic stops are the same,” the post reads. “Not all end in citations or arrest, and sometimes we hang around a little longer just to interact with the public, listen, and sometimes offer assistance.”
Officers called the man “multi-talented” and thanked him for giving them their first “Traffic Stop Concert.”
They made sure to mention that no citations were issued at the end of the concert.
