Sugar City landmark leaves
Some people in Sugar City may lose their way now that a famous landmark is gone.
Brad Moon said a century-old bent tree at his mother’s home at 17 W. First South fell to the ground Sunday. The house is owned by 89-year-old Leah Moon.
Moon said the tree was already huge when his family moved into the home in 1959. But he said it always grew sideways instead of up, giving the tree its distinctive role as a Sugar City landmark.
