Dog walkers raise money for cancer

Dog walkers around eastern Idaho met up at Freeman Park in Idaho Falls Saturday for the second annual “Bark For Life” fundraiser.

The event, similar to the American Cancer Society’s “Relay for Life,” raises money to help those battling cancer.

Hundreds of canine friends, and even a baby sheep, walked one mile in support of the fundraiser’s life saving mission.

“We do our Relay For Life in July at Bonneville High School in Thunder Stadium, but dogs are not allowed out there,” said Jennifer Moulton, event chair. “For those who want to include their dogs as family members, that’s not the place, so this is the venue where they can do that.”

Local businesses were also selling baked goods, handmade crafts, and PetCo even set up an obstacle course for the really energetic dogs.
