LDS church releases rendering of new Idaho temple
The LDS church released an artist’s rendering of the planned Meridian Idaho Temple this week.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints submitted the rendering and the site plan to Ada County.
According to a news release from the church, the Meridian Temple was announced in April 2011. The church now has 170 temples in operation, announced or under construction around the world. The one in Meridian will bring the number of temples in Idaho to five, with other temples in Boise, Twin Falls, Idaho Falls and Rexburg.
“Latter-day Saint temples are beautiful buildings with meticulous landscaping,” the church said. “Everything about the architecture is designed to honor God and complement the local community.”
