Ammon Maverik robbed at gunpoint

The Bonneville County Sheriff’s office is investigating an armed robbery at an Ammon convenience store.

Sgt. Jeff Edwards said the clerk told officers two men entered Maverik convenience store at 3540 E. Sunnyside in Ammon around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, and both pointed guns at him.

The clerk said he handed over cash from the register. The bandits then took the store telephone and the clerk’s personal phone. They removed the battery from the store phone and threw it on the floor. They threw the personal phone on the floor inside of the store, breaking it. They ran away on foot heading east from the store.

The robbery was reported when a Bonneville County deputy happened to come into the store to buy a soda five minutes later.

The two men are described as 5’9″ to 5’10”, white, and were dressed in dark colored clothing and hooded shirts. Each suspect wore a bandana on his face.

Police have not yet released surveillance photos.
