Anti-nuclear activist arrested on drug charges
Anti-nuclear activist Dr. Peter Rickards was arrested Friday on charges of marijuana trafficking.
The Twin Falls County Sheriff’s Department announced Tuesday that it executed a search warrant at the podiatrist’s home, seizing 4.3 pounds of processed marijuana with an estimated street value of $17,000. Thirty-two live plants were also discovered.
He was being held on $10,000 bond.
Rickards is a long-time opponent of nuclear-related research at the Idaho National Laboratory due to to his concerns about potential damage to the Snake Plain Aquifer.
