Police officer shoots dog dead
An Idaho Falls officer shot and killed a dog Monday evening after the dog aggressively charged him, the police department said.
Just before 7 p.m. officers arrived in the 1100 block of Irving Street to serve a warrant at a home. As they walked up to the home, a dog ran aggressively toward an officer.
The officer pulled his gun and fired multiple times, killing the dog.
Neighbors told police the dog had shown aggressive behavior on other occasions.
Police said the animal was an American bulldog mix.
