Bridger-Teton seeks real estate broker
The Bridger-Teton National Forest is shopping for a real estate broker to convey 10 of its 15-acre administrative site on North Cache in downtown Jackson.
The forest said the broker will locate potential buyers and sell the property to the highest bidder. It expects to complete the deal by the end of 2013. A 30 day request for quotes from realtors was issued April 8.
“This is such a unique property, and an unprecedented conveyance project so as a forest, we are very comfortable that soliciting a broker is the right thing to do,” said acting Forest Supervisor Cheryl Probert.
The town of Jackson withdrew from a direct purchase of the property after voters rejected a Specific Purpose Tax ballot to pay for it.
Proceeds from the sale will be used to reconstruct Bridger-Teton facilities elsewhere.
