Construction starts for new children’s museum
Downtown construction in Idaho Falls is giving a whole new meaning to a Children’s Art Museum.
The Idaho Falls Art Council started construction on its new ARTitorium. The new children’s museum will feature art through new-age technology. The new ARTitorium Director Georgina Goodlander said the museum will incorporate 21st century learning, keeping up with this generation’s knack for all things technical.
“Imagine a science center, but it’s all based around art,” she said.
The museum will feature green-screen technology, giant touchpads in the foyer, an automated music station, and so much more. But Goodlander said she wants the community to look beyond these “cool” gadgets into the underlying message of new-age education.
“It’s not just about being an artist; creativity comes into everything,” she said.
The ARTitorium will open the weekend of July 4th.
