Construction needs skilled technical workers

The construction industry was hit hard during the 2008 recession.

Now, the industry is rebounding and there are jobs that need to be filled.

Some include plumbing, welding and electrical positions, that are in high demand.

Construction is not your typical 9-to-5 job, said Aaron Johnson co-owner of Bateman-Hall.

“The subcontractors are having a hard time getting skilled employees to come back because they’re doing manufacturing. They’ve got 9 to 5 jobs with good benefits and they don’t want to come back to the uncertainty of construction,” said Johnson.
