Grand Teton park rangers investigate illegal take of moose
Wyoming Game and Fish wardens and Grand Teton National Park rangers are investigating the illegal taking of a moose within park boundaries.
A participant in the park’s elk reduction program reported a calf moose was mistakenly shot. State wardens seized the meat, cited the individual for taking a moose without a license and contacted park rangers. The meat was donated to local families in need.
The park is now conducting its own investigation. Rangers will continue to monitor and patrol elk reduction areas within the park.
