Grand Targhee scheduled to open Friday

Grand Targhee Resort is reporting over 100 inches of snow so far this season that has left a settled base depth of four feet.

The resort plans to open for the 2017-18 winter season on Friday.

Dreamcatcher, Blackfoot, Shoshone and Papoose lifts are scheduled to open Friday.

Grand Targhee said it has made over two million dollars in capital improvements this year including the addition of two new Pisten Bully grooming machines, hotel accommodations, and a 1.5-megawatt generator capable of powering the resort in the event of an outage.
