Stop the Bleed courses can help you prepare for emergency situations

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI) – More than 2.4 million people have learned how to 'Stop the Bleed' and Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center is helping make that happen.

The Stop the Bleed campaign helps people be better prepared for how to save lives if others a excessively bleeding in three steps.

Throughout the course, people will be able to determine life-threatening bleeding and step in before first-responders arrive, essentially saving a life.

Tonya Rupe, the Injury Prevention and Outreach Coordinator for EIRMC Trauma Program, is holding these classes for those in the area who are interested in learning.

Rupe says she provides these courses for students, teachers and community members to help them prepare for any severe bleeding emergency that may occur.

She plans to hold these free courses quarterly throughout the year. Those interested in enrolling in a course, contact Rupe at tonya.rupe@hcahealthcare.com or can find an open house HERE.
