Man killed in single-vehicle crash west of Arimo identified
ARIMO, Idaho (KIFI) - UPDATE 5/28/24: The Bannock County Coroner’s Office, in cooperation with Idaho State Police, has confirmed the identity of the deceased following the single-vehicle collision in Arimo on Sunday.
Officials say 20-year-old Cort Ryan Newlin of Arimo died at the scene.
Next of kin has been notified.
“My deepest condolences to the family and friends of this young man. I am holding you all in my heart as you navigate this difficult time,” coroner Torey Danner said.
The incident remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
ORIGINAL: One man is dead after a single car crash Sunday night just before 9:45 p.m. in Arimo.
A 21-year-old Chubbuck man, with a 20-year-old male passenger from Arimo, was driving east on West Arimo Road at Garden Creek Gap when the vehicle left the roadway and rolled over where it came to rest in a creek.
The passenger was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene. The driver was transported to a local hospital.
