Overnight showers and gusty winds lead off the week, warming trend towards Independence Day

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI)- Some overnight rain showers will move into the Snake River Plain in the early morning hours on Monday and continue through Monday evening. Higher elevations will see snow. Breezy conditions will be felt across eastern Idaho with a wind advisory in place through Monday. Gradual warming trend heading towards Independence Day.

Gusty winds will be in place as the weekend comes to a close. Wind speeds Sunday night will be 19 mph with gusts reaching 29 mph. A wind advisory for the Snake River Plain and portions of the Magic Valley will be in place until 9pm Monday night. The overnight low will be near 40 under partly cloudy skies.

Rain showers will move into the area overnight into Monday. The rain chances pick up around 3 am and lasting through the morning, with an 80 percent chance of precipitation. The daytime high will be near 61. Winds will also continue to pound the area. Surface wind speeds will be around 27 mph with gusts get up to 45 mph. The overnight low will be near 42 with the skies clearing overnight into Tuesday.

A warming trend takes over with mostly clear skies and a high near 71 for Tuesday. The wind and the rain should be mostly gone, with some lingering shower chances in some areas. The overnight low near 45.

A hot few days lead up to the 4th of July on Saturday.
