Gusty winds with scattered rain and snow for Thursday
An area of low pressure is on the way for Thursday, with gusty winds and wet weather. We’ll look for a rain snow mix in the Snake River Plain. Dropping temperatures will turn that rain over to snow, early Friday, but we’ll also be fighting gusty winds. We expect those winds to help keep heavy rounds of rain and snow out of the lower elevations.
Overnight, lows back to the lower 30’s. Winds at 15-25 mph, with gusts around 30mph. Chance of rain for the Plain, with snow above 6500 feet.
For Thursday, we’ll see a chance of rain and snow before 9am, then a slight chance of snow between 9am and 11am. Mostly cloudy, with a steady temperature around 35° for the Snake River Plain. Windy, with a southwest wind 20 to 35 mph, with gusts as high as 45-50 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Friday, chance of snow with mostly cloudy skies. A high near 32° with winds at 15-30 mph. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
