Overnight, rain and snow with a low temperature around 35° Southwest winds at 30 to 35 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Scattered snow for Friday with some rain in the afternoon. A high temperature close to 40°, southwest winds at 15-30 mph. The chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
Rain and snow for Saturday, patchy blowing snow after 3pm. A high temperature in the upper 30’s. Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 PM THIS EVENING TO 5 PM MST SATURDAY:
- WHAT…Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 1 to 5 inches, with locally higher amounts especially around Craters of the Moon and the benches. Winds gusting around 50 mph at times.
- WHERE…Shoshone/Lava Beds, Upper Snake River Plain, Lower Snake River Plain, and Eastern Magic Valley. This includes Shoshone, Richfield, Carey, Idaho Falls, Rexburg, St. Anthony, Pocatello, Blackfoot,\ American Falls, Shelley, Fort Hall, Burley, Rupert, Heyburn, and Oakley.
- WHEN…From 11 PM this evening to 5 PM MST Saturday.
- IMPACTS…Travel could be difficult. Areas of blowing and drifting snow could significantly reduce visibility.
WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM SATURDAY: Heavy snow. Additional snow accumulations of 6 to 16 inches below 6500, with 1 to 3 feet at or above pass level. Winds gusting over 60 mph at times. Until 11 PM MST Saturday.
