A new location for the Idaho Falls Area Humanitarian Center opens

The Idaho Falls area Humanitarian center is now at a new location. Although the LDS church is a big sponsor, people of all religions are encouraged to help out.

“If you bring all the community together you can do much more,” Kim Clark the president of BYU Idaho said.

“It’s open to all communities all religions no leaving anyone out of this great work,” said Judy Nelson, a volunteer.

They say the change of location helps bring in community together. The new center is at 1415 Northgate Mile in Idaho Falls in the Fred Meyer center.

“All sorts of organizations and people from around the community can work and participate and help lots of others,” said Clark.

This center not only benefits people in need, but it also makes the volunteers happy.
“It helps their lives to make them feel like they’re not worthless, especially those of us with gray hair,” said Colleen Williams, a volunteer.

“It’s amazing the service that they render becomes a tremendous blessing to them,” said Clark.

“It’s the best feeling in the world knowing that you’re helping and having fun doing it,” Williams said.

The humanitarian center is open Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Just stop by if you are interested in volunteering.
