Teton County adopts land development regulations

The Teton County, Wyoming Board of County Commissioners has approved Restructured Land Development Regulations. After a two year review process, it is a first step towards updating rules that describe how the 2012 Jackson/Teton County comprehensive plan will be implemented.

Town and County Planning Director Tyler Sinclair said “This is a huge first step in developing regulations that are easier to use and understand for the community laying the ground work for next steps in the update process. With the adoption of this first step the community can now move on to work on updating the regulations for rural parts of the County where real conservation and stewardship conservation can begin.”

The new regulations take effect January 1, 2015.

The rules will focus on character districts. Administrative procedures were updated and laid out in flow charts and many definitions were updated. They do not change any property zoning or the standards for zoning districts.
