NIATEC hosts annual “cyber security” competition

Students under Idaho State University’s NIATEC program hosted the second, annual cyber-security competition where local high school students competed for scholarship money to stop hacktivists from breaking into valuable computer systems.

Of course, this was all just a simulation, but the fact of the matter remains – hacktivists are breaking into complex systems often and businesses, government intel, and everyday folks rely on these NIATEC graduates to help them protect the valuable property and information being stored.

Because, let’s face it – computer security is just as reliable as the Titanic.

In this story, students explain how the NIATEC program has a 100% job placement rate post-graduation with a high pay scale since the industry is in need of people with these skills.
